 Uzhgorod regional doctors organization ( URDO ) is a voluntary community organization. It unites doctors as well as people employed in medical and health protection services.
The objective of the organization is to promote the development of the public health protection services. The priorities are: developing home medical science, prevention of HIV, AIDS as well as other sexually transmitted diseases. The members of URDO solve most urgent problems in medical sphere as well as raise the professional level of doctors.
The tasks of URDO include: to raise the importance of medical professions on both social and state level as well as to improve the quality of health protection services for different social layers. The organization presents and protects the economic, social, professional interests and rights of its members in courts, different state bodies as well as in non - govermental organizations.
The basis of URDO is composed of regional groups. The highest administrative body of URDO is the congress which has the right to adopt the program, status as well as the symbols of the organization. The congress also has the official right to make amendments to the program and the status of URDO.
Membership in URDO can be both individual and collective. Individual members can be subdivided into: ordinary members, adherents, and Honourable Members. Ordinary members and adherents are provided with a member identity card. Honourable Members are provided with a special diploma.
At present URDO has above 50 members and adherents from Uzhgorod and Transcarpathia.
Members of URDO are carrying out the program called “ Health Academy ”. The program presents theoratical and practical material in a systematic and user friendly style. The program was devloped by the best specialists of our organization.
The aim of the Health Acedemy is to teach people to control their own health. The project enables people without medical education to master alternative medical methods to be fit and healthy. Those who have medical education may enrich and deepen their knowledge in natural therapy.
Classes are held once every other week.
Courses consist of two main parts:
• Theoratical course.
• Practical course. Participants can practise self – diagnostics and variuos methods to stay fit.
Participants will aquire knowledge in the following topics:
• Multi - level structure of a human body.
• Main diseases of the 12 systems of human body.
• Self – diagnostics.
• Environmental influence on a human body.
• Individual nutrition.
• Ecological protection of your body.
• Cleaning your endochrine glands with drugs of Coral Club Int . and other natural means.
• Best methods of the so called “ nature” doctors.
Conferences
 During the year 2005 the Academy held 13 conferences and meetings. Lecturer - Valentyna Kapchak, Phd. in medical sciences, university teacher, practising doctor.
Topics taught:
- Biologically active additions in our life.
- Clean water – source of a healthy life.
- What causes headache? Treating.
- Pathology of endocrine glands.
- What is high blood pressure?
- Chronic jaundice.
- Climactoric syndrome.
- Immune system – basis of our health.
- Ache in bones and joints. What is osteoarhtritis?
 Lecturer – Lidiya Semak, haematologist of first category, head physician of medical and health center.
Topics taught:
- Aenamia. Causes, prevention, diagnostics and methods of treating.
- Parasites in human body.
- What can a drop of human blood tell us?
- Silicon – basis of life on Earth.
Topics which are planned to be taught in 2006:
 Lecturer – Viktor Bodnia, physician at Uzhgorod mental hospital.
Topics taught:
- Depression and risk of cardio – vascular diseases.
- Informational and wave therapy as a method of diagnostics.
- Insomnia. Sleeping problems – a 24 hour problem.
- Post trauma stress problems.
- Dipsomania,depression, suicide. How to solve the problem?
- Drug addiction as one of the greatest problems of mankind.
- Infection of civilization. Chronic tiredness.
URDO cooperates with various community organizations both governmental and non – governmental which are intersted in providing qualified help to poor layers of society. Doctors of the organization provide medical help to invalids of the 1 st category as well as to orphans. URDO is constantly looking for new partners in medical sphere. Saving human life is the expression of our humanism and Christianity.
The activities of URDO cannot be carried out without new partners and financial assistance. This assistance is most welcome in the form of modern equipment which will raise the quality of the medical services provided. It will also broaden the range of our services.
We need urgently:
Ultrasonic equipment which can diagnose the pathology of abdomen and cardio – vascular system.
The URDO is planning to open a psychological and rehabilitation center for drug addicted teenagers. It is also planning to open a “ last home” hospital for people with incurable diseases. We are looking for qualified volunteers from Ukraine and abroad who are ready to help.
URDO and its patients will be grateful to our partners for their help. We are more than eager to participate in the similar projects organized by other community organizations and centers.
